Refurb - Repair - Remake - Replace
Designer and maker of parts for your perfect project.
Kit includes the parts as follows:
2 x 3D printed pivot wheel halves (interlocking)
1 x M8 hexagonal nut
1 x M8 hexagonal nylock nut
1 x Aluminium pin sleeve
Developed using recognised plans as reference, this pivot wheel kit is based on the NSD plans with a 100mm diameter on the widest edge and measuring at 36mm thick when both halves are assembled together. The front flat is inset to measure 97mm from front to back across the pivot wheel as stated in plans. The hole sockets at the front and rear are made to suit 1" diameter tubing, while the front socket has a further recess to suit a 22mm tube should it be needed. This allows for centering and assembling the Eyestalk onto the front and for making an insert at the back with an offcut of 1" diameter tube for attaching a mechanism to operate the completed build. This kit is suitable for use with most builds using the NSD plans as a basis.
Upon selecting which hexnut to use in your build, this kit will require the halves to be glued together, either with super glue, mitre bond or epoxy resin. Filling and sanding will also be required before painting and finishing. The supplied aluminium pin sleeve is designed to be a push-fit through the centre of the assembled pivot wheel and is slightly longer than the pivot wheel thickness to
sit slightly proud of each side.
Should you wish to fit lights or LEDs into your Eyestalk assembly, this kit has 2 channel options for you to use; If you are assembling your Eyestalk onto an M8 threaded bar, there is a straight channel that runs directly under the pivot centre to run wires. Alternatively, if you use an M8 threaded tube, you can run wires straight down the centre of the tube, through one of the supplied nuts (when it is fitted into the pivot) and around the pivot centre.
Toms refurbishment is one if not the best business that can provide you with recreated "prop" parts to a outstanding degree and would definitely recommend him as his speed in posting and the finish quality of the product is handled with such care. Tom himself is also very kind and encouraging and a pleasure to talk to. Thanks to Tom I have been able to start my dream of having my own personal "army" which would not be possible without parts provided by Tom.
Tom’s Refurbishments, the best for all things Sci-fi. The attention to detail, service and quality of the builds are 100%. Props made from accurate, strong and quality materials, Tom’s work really can’t be faulted. The communication between Tom is great too, a guy who listens and does what the client needs to the best of his ability.
Tom's Refurbishments is the first port of call for a variety of project/build parts and restoration. Tom's amazing attention to detail and love for all things "Sci-Fi" shows in his unrivalled quality in his work with many happy clients. Tom keeps excellent communication with his clients and is an absolute pleasure to work with.
I contacted Tom back in 2019 about making some improvements to my project so that I could take him to events and Comic Cons. Tom saw this as a challenge and found solutions which created a beautiful, reliable machine that works wonderfully and allowed me to attend the Queen's Jubilee Parade without any technical issues. I fully recommend Tom's Refurbishments and I intend to commission my other project with Tom in the near future.
